Stage 1 – How to Clean Terrazzo with FilaCleaner
You will need a bucket for diluting FilaCleaner, another bucket of fresh water, two cloths and a scrubbing brush or stiff broom.
Dilute FilaCleaner with water at a 1:30 ratio.
Apply to the sandstone (working on a small area of a few square metres at a time), then clean the surface with a cloth and scrubbing brush or stiff broom.
Remove dirt and rinse with clean water.
Allow to dry completely.
Stage 2 – Polishing Terrazzo with FilaClassic
You will need a microfibre cloth, and a woollen cloth. For larger applications you may want to use a soft microfibre mop and a polishing machine (hire from your local equipment hire shop).
Make sure the surface is clean and dry.
Apply a coat of FilaClassic using a slightly damp microfibre cloth, fleece, or other suitable applicator. Ensure the coat is applied evenly and continuously.
After 1 hour the surface should be dry. Polish with a woollen cloth, or polishing machine. The amount of polishing determines the level of gloss of your surface – more polishing = higher gloss.
* Do not use in wet environments such as bathrooms or outdoors
How to Clean Terrazzo for ongoing maintenance:
Use a 1:200 dilution of FilaCleaner for ordinary maintenance cleaning, or a 1:30 dilution for intensive maintenance.
To maintain the gloss levels when necessary, mop the floor using a solution of 1 glassful of FilaClassic diluted in 5 litres of water, and then polish when dry using a woollen cloth. This will buff up the gloss again.
For grease-based stains, use FilaNo Spot.
