A ready-to-use special product from the LITHOFIN-Range for ceramics, natural- and concrete stone. Lithofin Stainstop PLUS contains high-quality water and oil repellent agents based on siloxanes and dissolved in solvents. Special additives permanently intensify the colour structure.
Properties
Lithofin Stainstop PLUS sinks into the stone and reduces the capillary absorbency so water, oil and grease can no longer penetrate the surface. These materials remain on the surface and can be wiped off before they cause stains. In addition to protecting the stone, Lithofin Stainstop PLUS darkens it thereby invigorating the colour structure.
Technical Data
Density: ca.0.8 g/cm³
Appearance: liquid, colourless
Flash Point: >35°C (c.C)
Odour: aromatic
Field of Use
For making absorbent ceramic, terracotta, natural- and engineered stone surfaces stain resistant and at the same time intensifying their colour structure. Highly suitable for weak to medium absorbent natural stones like granite, gneiss, quartzite, slate and limestone with rough to honed surfaces. Also suitable for polished stones. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Please Note: impregnated surfaces cannot be treated. Marble and limestone remain sensitive to acid.
Directions for Use
Always test the product in an inconspicuous area prior to application. The surface to be treated must be completely dry, clean and free of stains. Apply Lithofin Stainstop PLUS with a brush, a roller or a cloth. The surface should be uniformly wet. On very absorbent surfaces, this procedure may have to be repeated within five minutes.
Attention! The liquid product must penetrate into the surface.
Rough surfaces: residues and foam should be evenly distributed before drying, but not completely dried off. Surface should appear wet.
Polished surfaces: carefully wipe product off, do not allow residues to dry. On large areas, remove the product residues with a squeegee and buff the surface with a machine and a white pad. If product has started to dry, put some Lithofin Stainstop PLUS and wipe the surface.
All surfaces: Check all surfaces for a uniform appearance, if necessary immediately apply more Lithofin Stainstop PLUS. The product can not be removed once dry.
Please Note: Always test the product prior to use. Some stones absorb unevenly which may result in a cloudy appearance. Glass, polishes, plastics, varnish and other surfaces sensitive to solvents must be protected against splashes. Non-absorbent and wet surfaces can not be impregnated. Marble and limestone remain sensitive to acid.
Drying Time: most of the solvents evaporate within two hours. Floors can be walked on after 12 hours. The impregnator is fully effective after 24 to 48 hours.
Application Temperature: the temperature of the surface to be treated should be between 10°C and 25°C. Switch off underfloor heating. Avoid direct sunlight.
Coverage: the coverage depends on the absorbency of the surface. Approximations: approx. 10-15m² on honed granite, approx. 6-8m² on sawn granite, 25-30m² on slate.
Storage
Closed, cool and dry. Shelf life approx. two years.
Open containers should be used quickly.
Durability
Outdoors, the colour intensifying component lasts for one to two years, depending on the type of stone and the weather. The protective component will last for about three years. Indoors, the durability depends on the care products used. Strong degreasing agents and layer forming products are not suitable.
For regular maintenance, we recommend Lithofin MN Easy-Care which supports the effect of Lithofin Stainstop PLUS.
Environmental Protection
Contains organic solvents, free of chlorinated hydrocarbons.
Disposal: liquid product is classified as special waste. Containers are made of environmentally friendly tin plate. Clean containers can be recycled through collection systems.
